Within the Labyrinth Mind

Incessant, these thoughts unconstrained
Weigh heavy upon you
A deluge of fear
Flooding the mind
Shadows encompass the heart
Your hope and your reason are fading
A descent into dread
All courage departs

This battle cannot be won
Within the labyrinth mind

Trapped in a spiraling maze
Its start and its finish are cryptic
The architect lost
In his own design
Guard-like these tenebrous walls
Will ever confine you
The world and its cares
Become more unreal
Senseless once consumed with itself
The soul forever is restless

Within this benighted slumber
All fictions are real, and truth is a lie
The honey is poisoned, the flowers have thorns
The sun never shines
At the heart of this hellish dreamscape
In coffles you lie bound
You knit them together link by link
In silence, without sound

Stirred in a feverish sweat
Night’s host of terrors upon you
This cackling horde
Tears at your flesh
Behemoth, the beast of the earth
His signs and wonders deceive you
Leviathan roused
He opens his mouth
