The House on the Hill

Justin Gembarski

I've seen enough in my time to see through the lies with my own eyes
Can't believe I'm talking like this, can't be like this
But I love this and can't stop this
I have seen my father break down and cry
Because my mother admitted the love for him fly somewhere else
To a place where she can find herself, remove herself from us
To escape the stress we put on her and ourselves
Been away for a year but left my demons behind
To haunt the ones I claimed I loved, but I lied
Shouldn't have lied because those lies were responsible
For making my own brother hospitalized
I break down and cry

Wished to go back and fix things
Wished to drop out and chase dreams
Wanted to leave but leaving didn't change anything
Left them in the darkness without a harness
Darkness started to harass my own blood
Couldn't clot in time, just kept flowing
Stopped growing, this family stopped growing
Lights in the house stopped glowing
Life in the house kept fleeing
Where did it go? Nobody knows
The murder scene yet to be discovered
The murder case yet to be recovered
Who did this? Was it Eight?
No, it was the gate
The gate to hell that led to the basement
A portal that made all of us let go
Let go of the ones we once loved
Four corpses living under a roof
No proof of life to prove we even existed
My existence is persistent
Keep myself from the threat of extinction
This is not a cry for help I can do this myself
Stronger than I've ever been
But I can't deal with the malevolent
