I wait for dawn to come
Before me Gelert's ghost
My dear loyal friend
He saved my babe my son
Tormenting me each night
Shadows of the truth again
Trembling and filled with hate
Red mist blinded me
Blinded me with rage
When I came home I saw
The crib was over-turned
Blood on the nursery walls
Blood on dear Gelert's face
I thought the very worst
Into his heart I plunged my sword
I heard the babe cry out
There lay the wolf Gelert killed
Blinded by rage
Rage and anger
Fire inside me
My son faced certain death
A lone hungry wolf attack
Shadows and deep regrets
Are darker than before
Tormenting me each night
