Purpose and Conviction
Warmth in the shadow, although it smells so stale
I heard a cry from hell, an unwritten understanding
The light passed the world, before my eyes
The same sound that keeps me up at night
A gentle hum with no reprise
Of time passing by without a doubt
What would it help to say this now
It's all reluctantly upheld
The road lit with factory lights
The same thunder plagues your life
I heard an echo off the wall
But it doesn't resonate at all
The light bathed the world before my eyes
And purpose and conviction held it tight
Wherein once there was no spark or fire
What was vacant now has lust for life
What would it help to say this now?
It's all reluctantly upheld
And all these words spill out my mouth
It's all reluctantly upheld
