Tidal

I sense the darkness rolling in
High tides, deep depths, crash into my skin
Fighting off the undertow that's dragging me
Arms ache, legs weak, from treading

Losing hope, losing sleep, can't cope, can't breathe

I try to keep my head above but I'm sinking
Swollen sea swallows me, I'm drowning
My sadness is so heavy it buries me
It's hard to reach the surface that's eluding me
