Old Grandad
Old Grandad, he was a special man
He had a twinkle in his eye
Old granddad , he was a special man
He had the life of laughter in his voice
And He loved Grandma , how he loved that lady so
He always seemed so very lost without her
When she got sick he'd go and see her every day
And they'd always have their daily game of checkers
Even though he's gone the magic lingers on and I'll always
Remember the stories that he told me
Even though he's gone I can still hear his voice
Telling me once more about the war
I'll always remember the way he's hobble up the stairs
Clutching at the board and looking for a game
And he always made me laugh the way that he'd forget
How much sugar was in his tea and always add too much
I remember with pride the day that he told me I sung sweetly
He'd tap his hand and sing along and he seemed so young
And happy then , Oh Grandad
Now he's gone and I must say
I'm a little wiser and a little sadder, but oh those riches
that he sent my way will never , never, never pass away.
