A Little Place I Know
There's a little place I know
Where most you people can't go
Because you say
That it's just not there
Well when I was just a boy
My dad gave me a tool, said, It's a gun
Learn how to use it. He said
Oh, don't abuse it
Then when I turned eighteen
Uncle Sam said, come on boy away with me
Go off to war...be a soldier, leave your family
Might not come back no more
So I went to Vietnam, to fight them on their home ground
Oh, what's it all for?
They are the enemy! What enemy, this is their land, their home
Oh, why fight this rumor?
I fire into the night, never having to imagine before
To fight off fear
In the jungle
Lord help us they're everywhere
I come back to the states
thinking that it's going to be great to be home
But we were wronged
There's a little place I know
Where most you people can't go
Because you say
That it's just not there
And this little place I know
Where most you people can't go
Cause you say that it's just not there
Well I know, I know you just don't care
