Story So Far

This is The Journey

Yeah, wasn't born in this country
I moved here at the age of ten
Young boy from Zim trying to make it
Never stayed in, always played with friends
What it looked like, on a push bike
How most of the days were spent
If they eint got the latest creps
Nah
They don't wanna play with them
Was taught to stay humble
I was never rude or ungrateful
Mum's coming back from a double
Just to keep food on the table
Was in year nine when my pops died
But I had someone that I knew was an angel
I wasn't always an angel
We used to go raving in Uxbridge
Get on a wave and just bus it
Meet gyal in the rave get love sick
Overcrowded but we don't jump ship
And I know a couple man that got jumped quick
I would never look for the fight
Somehow, the fight always found me
Can't just talk the talk
You gotta walk the walk
To any guys that are rowdy
Then I started this music ting
I was freestyling with guys from the ends but
Never in a booth and ting
I would go round with a laptop
Spit bars with my crew and ting
One time was in KFC
And we dubbed one set with a few MC's
And if really want rep
You gotta be repping a team
Remember when we had West Camp
Remember Section 18
So I made a team with my G's
2 Colossal, the dream
Skoze, Lowko, Gully, Sniper
Can't forget Beenie G
No we can't forget cah
Started making that madness
Started making them bangers
Other niggas start noticing and they
Started hating on mandem
I was only a younger cah but I
Started making it happen
My bars were makin some traction
People start debating bout rappers
And they would always ask me Crow
What would you do if you made it
Get my mum a new mansion
No better way to say thanks mum
I'd make sure my family is all good
With cars for the mandem
In the palm of our hands
It's just part of the plan
What's this? We're moving up north
I don't really wanna move from the ends
At the age of sixteen
4 or 5 times moving again
This time, away from the team
Some joined rival crews when I left
Nah nah, I'm making a scene
So stepped inside the booth then I sent
Even the fact that I sent for 3 MC's was a miss match
They just sent for me once, I gave them a series of diss tracks
I felt betrayed, I was mad
One point in time, I could say they was fam
But I soon moved on and got back to making the tracks
18 and I'm way in Sleaford
I was a long way from Greenford
And we would just wait for the weekend
I had my songs made for the weekend
I always saw mates on the weekend
We'd drink while it played through the speaker
Most of my mates were believers
Like how have you not made it with these ones
By the time I was 19, 20
Had a few albums
And I was producing more
Even hooked up with a band
After we jammed
On a music course
Ironi, the name fit
It was something I'd never do before
It was kinda lit, we made hits
And we'd always end on a huge applause
I was doing shows
Did a few videos, I was in the zone
Always in the studio, fine all alone
Thinking that, maybe I should do this on my own
I was working part time but I needed more
Money just to fund this
Started working in sales, at the weekend
Started spending money in the hundreds
23 with the team for Outta Control
But I didn't do much to try to promote
What can I say, life took control
Priorities changed, paved a new road
Still made songs, how could I stop
Diamond in the dirt the album I dropped
I was getting good money had to focus on work
Didn't wanna be out of a job
And I can't lie
I was trying to do right
Got a ring for the bride
And we tried but it wasn't really our time
Nine years in the archive
Then the LostBoy tape was out
Dropped when my life was breaking down
I had to move out, just too just to clear my head
I had to move out far away from town
Then I came came back to the ends
Every intention to do this music properly
Rapping again
My cousin went unexpected
Why did it have to be him
Happened couple days after he helped me move in
What a great man till the end
Kept writing tunes but not public
Didn't see it my whole life
I was always surrounded by writers cah
My sister's book just got published
Just look at what she's accomplished
It just fills me with pride
Young girl from Zim trying to make it
She gon make it, it was built with time
So I had to give it time
Now I'm two nine
Little bit of time on my side
Far from but I try to be wise
And nowadays if you ask Crow
What would you do if you made it
Still get my mum a new mansion
No better way to say thanks mum
Always part of the plan
That's my story so far
