Most everyone is asleep now
With dreams well on the way
Why is it that tonight keeps me on guard
For in times past, I've slept like a baby
Dreaming too of the morrow's day
(Tomorrow's day)
But now I'm kept from slumber
By something inside my heart

And it's calling me with urgency
To watch as well as pray
And as long as night will tarry
With attention I must wait
For in an hour not known to any

And the restlessness of the night
Will be done away

There's a growing tension inside of me
To wake the neighborhood
Though many will scorn the hour being so late
Still I know I must take the risk
Of being misunderstood
