The shoemaker's son had a sign
To show all the world his designs
Then one fateful day the things it did say
Those things were in no way benign
Then they raged and they raged

Then they took him and threw him away
They took everything he made

The shoemaker's wife had a crime
Her husband was in for the ride
They raged with the crowds and hated out loud
But the truth was it all was a lie

There was an old man at the scene
Who started to yell and to scream
And though it was true he just wanted shoes
He shouted that they should be freed
