Unstable Pride

Verse 1

I lock my own door
Knowing I’m not coming back
I fit all my belongings into one bag
I cut all my hair
And all of me off from my friends

Verse 2

Everyone here has your back
‘til it’s theirs up against a wall
That’s when nobody cares
If you start or fall, or just go away
For good

Verse 3

And hopefully, I won’t run into anyone I know so nervously
I hide some things that I should show
And knowing me, I’ll probably say something stupid to cover up shit
Running ‘round in my head

Verse 4

“Oh hey, I haven’t seen you in awhile”
Is what they tell me
But when I can’t help but lie
I know I’m not ready to tell them
I’ve been working too hard on the ride home
And even if they offered me one, I’d say no
I’m still learning to drive with unstable pride
