Midnight Wood
I long for moonlight beams
To illuminate the way
Out of this midnight wood
Into a field of day
No matter what I do
What fireflies I chase
Here in this midnight wood
All of it is a waste
Oh midnight wood
Won't you part your trees briefly
And let the moon
Shine silver onto me
I know deep in my heart
I'll never find that field
Where sun will never set
And cold I'll never feel
The path is all I seek
With the moon to guide me on
I'll walk it happily
Until my days have gone
For, the winds will allways howl
For, the rain will fall again
For, the lightning will be back
To destroy what I've built
For, the streams will run dry
For, the leaves will fall down
For, it may be out of reach
But the moon is always there
Oh midnight wood
Won't you part your trees briefly
And let the moon
Shine silver onto me
Oh midnight wood
Won't you part your trees briefly
And let the moon
Shine silver onto me
Oh midnight wood
Won't you part your trees briefly
And let the moon
Shine silver onto me
