Every now and again I see all three of them
Take a turn at the turnstile to get me a free in
And your Metrocard is turning its back
The crystal in your palm turns a dark shade of black

Every now and again I quit my job at the laminate factory
Applying wood onto wood in thin layers, sometimes as much
As five layers thick
And then I spit out the splinters
And clear my throat
And go home and starve myself and choke
