Who We Are

Defeated and exhausted by this path yet unable to eliminate or deviate once passed
Too soon to be so done though consequences have only begun
The physical effects can't be ignored the cycle of regret much more invasive than before
Assuring everyone you're good surround yourself with those for whom it's understood
But these people aren't your friends
They'll tear you down to service their own ends
Fixated entropy too far gone to be
A consolation meant to be for show
When it finally breaks your heart
Where will you go?
Departure from your sanity complete retracing every hardly recognizable defeat
Your tattered heart beats like a drum as you fight to reconcile what you've become
And I can see you've lost your shine
And the lights have all gone dark
There was nothing left but time
Without a flicker or a spark
There was once a vibrant blaze
A luster all your own
Now you stumble through this life
And you know that you're alone
