Afterglow
In the morning
The unforgiving sunlight tears the night apart
Then in the evening
A day of living later, you’re bruised and battlescarred
When the truth hits you
She softens the blow
And you still fall down like you always did
But she never lets you hit the floor
And the world melts down into my pillow
And I’m wading into the afterglow
The seed that I’ve sown
Well, now it has grown and it curls its vines around me
The flowers bloom
Their thick perfume intoxifies me
But she breathes
New oxygen
And the mouth to mouth sends us flying south
To where the weather’s warm for sure
And the world melts down into my pillow
And I’m wading into the afterglow
The world melts down into my pillow
And I'm wading into the
The world melts down into my pillow
And I'm wading in the
The world
The world
Afterglow
