The Universe Is Weightless

The universe is weightless, it's contracting and expanding at the same time
Depending where you're standing when you're looking straight at objects
And the distance between yesterday and Friday coming up after next Christmas
Or the nearest public holiday

The universe is very small and very big
It's awesome and we're dangling out in space like puppets on a string
It's hard to attach the children stories with some sticky sticky glue
It's called string theory (Is it even a theory, I don't know)

It doesn't matter, there's no matter, but it's true
That many interesting things are shaped like circular bits of wheat
Just floating in a sea of milk which scientists call the Milky Way
'Cos there's no other way

And it's rather unbelievable that no matter where you are right now
You're always in the middle of something you're about to do
To someone you don't like or like too much
But actually that someone isn't someone else, it's you

And what it all really comes down to is there's simply no way back to where we started
When the very first small detail of our plan became unravelled
That's why we travelled to this planet near the sun
But then some pretty fucked up idiot decided to be sensible and do it properly
Don't you forget it, it isn't necessary

Nothing matters, no, nothing matters, there's no nitty (Nothing matters, no nitty)
There's no mad hatter, stop this chattering (There is no matter, there is nothing there, not getting fatter, there is no matter)

The universe is weightless like a tiny little bee
Under the mattress of a braces we're snoring so loudly
While the atoms and the molecules get flatter
And she gets fatter

And so the princess and the pea are expanding and contracting at the same time
Is it a crime, what is this paradox called time
Where does it go to, where will it end and does it matter,
What does it matter, does it matter, does it matter, hmm I think (What does it matter, just matter)
