Laurel
I ran through jungles to warn you
At times, I thought I’d not get through
Most times I felt I fought alone
But in no time they’d come along with mystical chants and ritual dance
Those mimicking, posturing primates
Laurel, buy some ear muffs
Laurel, and some ear plugs
Laurel, live in a sound proof booth
Laurel, lock-out their words from you
Manicked hair, lacking care
But when you sing it’s all they can’t see
I hid, in shock at all they said
I thought those times were gone and dead
They spoke of changing what you wear
Don’t they know you float on air?
They pummel their drums and dig in the dirt
Next yеar they’ll be hawking the nеxt shirt
Biker boots, giggling goose
But to hear you sing
Is galaxies on seen
