The rain beats on my window,
And the rain light up the dark,
It starts the shadows chasing,
And the dogs on the run begin to bark.
The church bell's strikning midnight,
And the lights have all gone down,
The sea's as dark as thunder,
And I feel like a wanted man on sacred ground.
Now the wind cries out, it's taking you away,
But there's nothing I can do.
Passing ships into the night,
We can't stay together,
I won't win but I can fight,
Looks like we're in for stormy weather.
There's a fog down on the beach,
It rolls on forever,
You get further out of reach,
Looks like we're in for stormy weather.
Tall lights on the highway,
They disappear from view,
There's no-one coming my way,
Now I've lost it all it seems I'm losing you.
