Here I Stand

And there I laid, as bare as I entered this world, in a red and white covered bathtub, dragging a blade across my skin and hoping for results

The last remnant of light across my window serving as a smidge of hope, as I run my fingers through fake velvet and hum cheesy pop songs to myself

Wine spilling through my pores and dripping from my fingers, as the bath water starts to drown me, turning into a blood color as I still can’t manage to understand who I am
