Meet Mr. Driftwood, alone in his house
He covered the tiny cracks to keep out the light
The start of the holidays has come into sight
He's soon at a different place without going out
He's not a prisoner of the darkness around
But more like a free man in one endless night
Peace has been waiting here for him to be found
Between thickened curtains lies his own paradise
He feels the joy of cutting off
Rays of light from the sun
He covers cracks and all clocks
Says goodbye, so long
Fade out into the dark
But his house is still like home
He's not lonely, just alone
He's not picking up the phone
No more opening the door
People shouldn't say a word
'Cause they don't understand
There is nothing absurd
