Lord of Misrule (live)
Thank you very much everybody
Now, this is a part of the show I’m really looking forward to
Because, it’s not often I get to introduce on stage a bona fide rock legend of one of the biggest bands in the world
And eum
Jethro Tull, I mean, what can I say about Jethro Tull?
Blues, rock, folk, progressive
Sometimes all at the same time
And all led by the fantastic, Bluetooth of my next guest
In fact he has been referred to the Jimi Hendrix of the flute
Probably by himself, I think
And it’s been fantastic for me, because over the past few years I’ve had… I’ve been on stage with him a few times
I’ve shared his stage with him on a few occasions
He’s such a fantastic person and now he’s sharing my stage with me
So would you please, give a massive, massive welcome to the lord of Misrule himself Ian Anderson
Lord of Misrule!
Please come on in and sit you down and partake of the feast
I count you all the friends I have
The ones I like the least
I'll shelter you from darkness
As it clouds over the earth
For the world is in a turmoil and life has lost its worth
Black shall be your Christmas
And sad tidings to you all. I'll put my gift under the tree
Wait for the ash to fall
I'll give you guns and bombs
And all my military plans
I'll give you my machines and a list of my demands
The lord of Misrule
Lord of the feast of fools
Not mischievous but cruel
The lord of Misrule
I'll bring you to your knees
Before festivities begin
I'll might be a lord, but please don't let me in
I'll be the last one laughing
At the ending of the world
I'll point my finger at you
Say you got what you deserve
Take pleasure in your misery
I'll revel in your shame
A little festive schadenfreude
Wicked party game
So take your chance to steal
All that you covet every day
Betray your friends and break their hearts
Come on and make a play
They'd only do the same to you
So don't regret a thing
Bring your deceits to the table and let the feast begin
The lord of Misrule
Lord of the feast of fools
Not mischievous but cruel
The lord of Misrule
I'll bring you to your knees
Before festivities begin
I'll might be a lord
But please don't let me in
The lord of Misrule
Lord of the feast of fools
Not mischievous but cruel
The lord of Misrule
I'll bring you to your knees
Before festivities begin
I'll might be a lord, but please don't let me in
So face the sun until
The shadow falls behind you
'cause I'm the lord and I will always find you
So face the sun until
The shadow falls behind you
'cause I'm the lord and I will always find you
