All Alone
Sunset eyes with a starlight smile
She says she's well aware she hasn't talked in a while
But, the smell of coffee and the after-rain
Brought her home even after so many days
When she came she knocked on the door
Even if she knew no one was there anymore
Even if someone wasn't there to say hey
She replied like they were there anyway
The smell of coffee at the crack of dawn
And the sound of footsteps down a marble hall
And the feeling of content you seek is one that you can only feel
All alone
All alone
The trees are shaken by a gust of wind
And the birds are chirping sending chills to her skin
Still she remains a poker face
Like a painting in a showcase
The wind picks up the leaves of a maple tree
And twirls in the sky like in a fantasy
Torn up pages of an old notebook
Filled the sky; for a dove, could easily be mistook
The smell of coffee at the crack of dawn
And the sound of footsteps down a marble hall
And the feeling of content you seek is one that you can only feel
All alone
All alone
The smell of coffee at the crack of dawn
And the sound of footsteps down a marble hall
And the feeling of content you seek is one that you can only feel
All alone
All alone
