Watches Out Of Diamonds

If walls could talk
Well, I'd be asking
Anybody up top with any better ideas
About where to go from here

I'm trying not to lose too much sleep
On too many nights for too many years
Pretty busy down here just pouring time
Like water through the gears

Gotta hand it to 'em, it's a good machine
Who cares if it's running dirty or clean
As long as it's making parking spots
And watches out of diamonds

If I could fly
Well I'd be going
Get up a couple miles, clear my mind
Get a better sense of the scene

Maybe then I'd have a little better chance of landing
Like a bird in the middle of the rising sea
Picking up a passing dollar in my beak
Like I don't know what in the world it means
