It's been dark and cold
Can't find my way down this road
I can't see my purpose in life
I've been praying all day and night
Somethings gotta give
What type of life am I living
I'm not happy with what I'm doing
I got a dream, I gotta pursue it

I used to accept the things I know I shouldn't
And I can recall all the times I went through it
I promised myself that I would get to it
Been living my life through stages

Pain in my past
Thought it could hold me back
But I let it go, I let them go
Had to make room for my growth
It's okay to not be okay
I had to learn the hard way
I'm so glad for my trials
Now there's a story behind my smile
