Is This It?
Florian Rein, Peter Horn, Sebastian Horn
Is this it? Is it here?
I dress my body
and move my blood.
I stand on my bones
and brace my heart.
I reach into the ground
and suck out the black
juice of the past.
I reach into the sky
and suck out the breath
from the mouth of the future.
I know what everybody knows.
I do what everybody does.
I find I am waiting
for something to rip open
the whole world at once.
I feel something wanting
to dawn. I am afraid, and yet
in these days right now,
these days in between
the opening and the dawning,
I remember that nothing
has ever been true
but this, all along, only this.
I watch my hands
and hold my faith.
I see a shape
in the chaos and I know
that shape is our home.
Is this it? Are we here?
