Memories of the Transit of Halley's Comet
Oh I can still recall
The transit of Halley's Comet
Through the southern night sky
Oh so many years ago
Which instilled in me
A fascination for space
And for all the cosmic mysteries
That abound
In this vast universe
Tails of gas and dust
Hues of blues and green
That light up the night
Elliptic path
Around the sun
What a lonely life
For a piece of dust
Comes around once every 75 years
Will I live to see it again
Everlasting impression
To these eyes of mine
Will I live to see it again?
