Old

And one Tuesday morning I opened a book
And found that I didn't know how to read
And one summer lunchtime I searched for my rose
And found that I forgot to plant the seed
And now I find my dinner's getting cold
I guess it's time for me to grow old

And one certain April I shopped in the town
And found inside my wallet only cards
And one day in arithmetic I added two and two
And found that in my life there's only odds
And now I'm learning what I've been told
I guess that you could say I'm growing old

And one night while sleeping I rested myself
And found that I didn't stay awake
And one winter afternoon I changed anothеr year
And found that I had more than I could take
And so my many yеars have been sold
I guess that's what it is to grow old
