Christmas Down Here
Christmas down here is always kind of different
Mainly cause it don't get cold
Except for the year that the air started glistening
And it inexplicably snowed
Christmas down here seems to start a bit sooner
Every time it comes around
We hang up the lights and we break out the music
Before all the pumpkins come down
You might think we're crazy
And say we're drunk with cheer
It just so happens that lately
We've needed some Christmas down here
We load up the kids and drive all over town
Just to see their sweet faces aglow
Old birds in their empty nests wait around
For the sound of wings flying back home
Choir rehearsals and ornament parties weekends that go by too fast
Staying up late just to wrap all the presents
And praying the paper will last
You might think we're crazy
And say we're drunk with cheer
It just so happens that lately
We've needed some Christmas down here
Hallelujah thank God for Christmas down here
Hallelujah thank God for Christmas down here
Christmas down here can be hectic and stressful
Sometimes it feels like too much
But after a year that almost got the best of us
I'd say it's just enough
You might think we're crazy
And say we're drunk with cheer
It just so happens that lately
We've needed some Christmas down here
You might think we're crazy
And say we're drunk with cheer
It just so happens that lately
We've needed some Christmas down here
