The Pieces Spin
Life came and cracked my head
Right open
And all the tidy little piles
Bust out of all their boxes
Judging , weighing ,right and wrong
So many hours of painful thought
All that hard work
Was just a joke I played upon myself
The pieces spin and spin again
And sometimes they collide
And then go off their separate ways
Or tangle and divide
The pieces spin and spin again
And sometimes they collide
And then go off their separate ways
Or tangle and divide
I thought I knew
What did I know
Just shadows and reflections
And all it took was a strong wind
To blow in all directions
Whatever made me think that things
Would stay just where I put them
There are no laws but entropy
No other force can match it.
The pieces spin and spin again
And sometimes they collide
And then go off their separate ways
Or tangle and divide
The pieces spin and spin again
And sometimes they collide
And then go off their separate ways
Or tangle and divide
Till gravity exerts it's pull
And all the pieces fall
In patterns that I had not seen
But underneath it all
