Facing Failures
I’ve got a secret,
I’ve tried to keep it
But I’ve gotta release
I think about all the ways I fucked up any given day
Which makes it hard to recognize my glow up, now I’ve found my way,
I know what I’m trying to say
Gotta tell my brain now ain’t time to play
I can either be a ray of sunshine
Or I can rain on my life
On my wife, on my future kids
Don’t want them seeing poppa like this
I want to give them a world of bliss
But how the fuck can I do that
When the world we live in is so fucking whack?
Can’t tell me it’s not a fact
I wish we could bring it back
To a better time
But that never existed
Now matter how much insisting
The bigots be doing
The language of hate is fluent across the world
Stop worrying about people’s boys and girls
And maybe start thinking about your own world
I’ve fucked up in so many ways (so many ways)
I could take up all a your days
Telling you bout when my mind was in that haze
Now that I’ve got a better idea of where I’m at in this maze we call life
And how to turn a wrong to right
Being honest with myself when i got a song to write, yeah
There’s a lot more that needs to be made right
Yeah, there’s a lot more that they tryna keep outta sight
We’re in a circle of self destruction on a world that’s finite
Everybody looking out for a problem to highlight
Without any foresight, but it’s their birthright
So, it’s okay right?
Failure be running rampant
Smacking us so hard, leaving a hand print
On our personal lives
Turns good souls to guns and knives
Thinking it’s fun to die
Making our families cry
It ain’t that hard to figure out why
So many people can’t even get by
No matter how hard they try
Cause the system we follow, it lies
We’re nothing but numbers in their eyes
We dealing with so much on the inside we fried
We dealing with so much on the outside, can’t get by
Every single day it seems like we lose sight of our why
So many of us don’t even try to better our lives
Or the world we living in
Lemme ask you, what are you giving it? Yeah
Its hard to feel great
Now that Roe versus Wade is overturned
The lines that generations fought to blur
Are coming back in a different world
As those we delegate now think they can decide the fate
Of women who are raped
So many of you need to be put in your place
But now ain’t the time nor the place
To try to find a rhyme that’s so divine that it’ll change the minds of those who blindly try
To justify their hate with lies
It already makes me wanna cry
Sometimes it makes me wanna die
