The Politics of Driving

When the race was done the winners all convened; in a circle
The crowd would not go home; it partied through the day; it just had to stay to celebrate
Soon the moment came and the people had to leave; for jobs and deadlines
The winners lives were blessed, no obligation stress, just the deep blue sea
The victory would fade; the winners felt the days had no meaning
And so they kneel and pray for something new to chase into the deep blue sea
Drunk with victory, they sped around the sea in a circle
We'd cheer them from the shore; we'd love them even more when they don't return
