The Man That I'd Like to Be
It's too late to change what I am
Too early to tell what I'll be
But I know I'm gonna be right on time
For anything that's happening to me
I've broken a few of my bad habits
There's still a few that get to me
I'm halfway between the man that I was
And the man that I'd like to be
I wish that I had more patience
I still think I'm running out of time
Then lately I've learned to overlook those mountains
That anyone but me wants me to climb
Sometimes I think I'm getting closer
But I'm still too far out to see
I'm halfway between the man that I was
And the man that I'd like to be
Goodbye, all my old fairweather ways
Don't waste your worries on me
I've seen enough of my time waste away
And I know what I don't want to be
I lose some friends, cause I'm leaving
Depending on which ways I turn
That's alright by me
I'll always believe that some bridges were just best left to burn
So goodbye to all that I've got going
I'm leaving with what's left of me
I'm gonna run, run til I become
The man that I'd like to be
Yes, I'm gonna run until I become
The man that I'd like to be
