If You Want the Rainbow

Yeah
Check
One two, one two

Dear father, almighty author
Somewhere in your story is it pages of my glory?
Or am I more a tragic hero in an allegory?
I been waiting on a rainbow but every day it’s pouring
Raindrops rolling down my face in the morning
On a starry night make a wish up on a comet
That my dreams come true, put a little faith in you
But it never gets there
It’s all retch and no vomit
That’s why I write this sonnet
Scratching and I’m clawing just to reach a higher purpose
Time flies quick and all this shit just make me nervous
I just wanna be the greatest person I can be
Some days it feel like you expect me to be perfect
But I’m just confused
Nothing really clicking and I don’t know what to do
I could use a little direction toward some love and affection
But this not the first time that I’m putting in this request
Hit me back
Hit me back …

My son,
If only you could see the pretty horizon
Mind, body and spirit the Holy Trigun
Is here to protect you, I never left you
Why you care so much about whether people accept you?
Seeking validation from others will only get you nowhere
Traveling forever I know you don’t wanna go there
Always feel you’re on the wrong path
But any road will suffice that’s how I designed the map, so
It’s funny how your faith waivers when you need it most
Which is more important: getting shit or letting go?
It’s some things in life I wish you would just let ‘em be
When the rainbow finally connects you will know
Couldn’t be mistaken
Lay the boy to rest and the man he will awaken
To another dream on an ultralighted beam
And then maybe then he’ll understand he was never forsaken
Um, it’s like an elephant giving birth
It take longer than nine months but your blessing will shake the earth
Down to the very core and effectively break the curse
Take the pain and the suffering play it all in reverse
This was written from the beginning for what it’s worth
Open up your eyes, see the lies that was told
Read between the lines then your life will unfold
Every day you whine bout these dice that you roll
Like … you must not be paying attention
Your ascension long ago was predestined
Your mind a weapon, use it or lose it
Get up off your ass and boy fucking move it
You could make a better life if you choose it
But you steady abusing the gifts I gave you
Specifically to save you
Wondering what’s gonna be the catalyst for change
Here’s a hint: remember all the tears you thought you shed in vain?
If you want the rainbow,
Well you gotta have the rain
