I swear I’m right of mind, I swear I know what I saw
A man stepped right of Hell
And I fell to the ground and began to crawl
The whispers stopped me cold
It’s not like the Devil stared me right in the eyes
With his top hat and suit
He saw me and began to stride
Was I dead wrong?
Am I going to die?
Should I play along?

Slowly he walked up to me
And began to extend his hand
His smile full of perfect white teeth
Not a blemish on his skin
His gold and red eyes
They suddenly locked on to mine
I couldn’t break away
I sold my soul that day
I was dead and gone

I shouldn’t have played along

Then something caught my eye
It was the shine of a bright light
Under my shirt where it hid
Was the cross my mom gave to me
And with a bright light
The cross began to shine
The man across from me
He turned to ash suddenly
