Beyond The Wall
On a cold day in D.C. At the wall she touched his name
In silence kissed his picture it'll never be the same
As I watched her walk away from those that went beyond the call
Thoughts go to those left behind and their lives beyond the wall
Beyond the wall there's a story for every name written on that wall
Special things are left there yet by those that won't for-g-et
For every name memories go on beyond the wall
I saw a ragged teddy bear was it someone's favorite toy
From a son back to his daddy or a father to his boy
And me I kept the promise to buy my friend a beer
Here's to you old buddy I'll just leave it here
