Caravan Faces
Cinnamon scent a camels color
A caravan faces in my memories
And you are there and I drag you through
Each time I tried to give you
Back all the lies that I stole from you then
Words ascent your mouth is moving
Don't remember exact sentences
And you speak but only motions unfold
I was young and a fool
To think I had my will even if you think I could
(Sun down, snake coil, golden skin)
That's why we have two arms my friend
(The sand still warming)
(My hands, that's where I left you)
That's why we have now and then
(A hurricane in a review mirror)
And there's no regret
(A storm in a glas, a snow flake)
I'd do it all over again
(Gone)
Hands can tell, repeat and delay
My mirage long after you're gone
They say, water always levels
But I know, Marianne Moore
And things never are what they seem any way
