Passing By
Chasing the past while it’s catching up
Finding my tears within a coffee cup
Trying to know what’s right to say
Every day feels like an empty space
Fading away with melting memories
Decades of voices keep telling me
Finding the space within the in-between
There’s something that’s lying underneath
Am I grasping onto the air
Or is there something there
Forgotten knowledge and broken hearts
The way things started lives apart
But I don’t want to go oh no
There’s a place I’ve always known
Empty quite
That’s passing by
Winds are cutting these dry chapped lips
Bodies are yearning for a touch from a fingertip
Early rising and then quickly falls
Empty meadows with no flowers
Screaming words that make no sound
Pulling out hair watch it fall to the ground
Wanting something more than a friend
Trying to escape this forgotten land
Am I grasping onto the air
Or is there something there
Forgotten knowledge and broken hearts
The way things started lives apart
But I don’t want to go oh no
There’s a place I’ve always known
Empty quite
That’s passing by
Am I grasping onto the air
Or is there something there
Forgotten knowledge and broken hearts
The way things started lives apart
But I don’t want to go oh no
There’s a place I’ve always known
Empty quite
That’s passing by
