Society

Sacha Karam

We call it a society
And to be real I find it dystopic
We're supposed to live in harmony
And yet there's so many conflicts
Feminists are considered like convicts
For something that's supposed to be the basics
I refuse to be part of a society that inflicts
Such inequalities and horrors to women
So many women are dying
Men's behavior portrayed in such hideous colours
Are they supposed to bottle up feelings
Never being able to vent even if they went
To a therapist but then again
They're perceived as the worst
Yet they might suffer even more than everyone else
Crying and expressing emotions is strength not weakness
So many men are falling
I want my enby peeps to know that they need to stay true to themselves
People looking at us like we're anomalies
In a cis-tem that promotes to be copies
Of one another only to hide ourselves
So many enbys are fading
When I take a good look I despise it even more
People get discriminated for every possible reason
There's a serious issue at stake if some of us can't make it past a season
We're bound to die so why some of us depart before said date?
Every one of us is so beautiful
We come in different size and shape
And we all suffer from different aches
Let me remind you we're all meaningful
Even when life gets tough we do our best to get through
Through therapy lies improvement in the end
Through therapy's lies improve the mad to no end
I will be getting out of the depths of the ocean and watch the horizon truthfully
Yeah the sky's my limit
It is this society that made me lose my sanity
Let's go back to therapy and not get cancelled shall we?
I am what shattered these chains
I am which wears these strains
I won't be chained by my remains
I am what stays aflame in the rain
I am which is arcane and deranged
And I'll make sure I plant the right grains
Some might consider these words to be shallow
Some might consider these words to be hollowed
These words are for those that search for the Hallowed
Path to a hidden reality devoid of meaning, sense and warfare
If money is the only thing higher classes care
Then it's no wonder that Earth is left caved
What's the point of possessing gold
If your heart is rotten to the core
Nothing is close to real since the beginning of this century
Synthetic emotions in the form of pills
Mind altering chemicals in the form of speeches
Hate speeches in the form of political discussions
Mental health in the form of illusions
A mess of a society controlled by the Patriarchy
And you dare to say I'm the one that is crazy, that I'm not living in reality?
And I'm aware, this world may be flawed, it may be broken but it's all we have
So we better take care of what's left of it
Getting blinded by greed is no excuse
There might be no written rules
And yet we put on masks
Hiding behind fake acts
That suppress emotions
Yet in this life we're always in motion
Always in the grasp of the ocean
I'm getting sick of these pretty locutions
That we need to say to look like people with educations
As long as you're a decent human being why can't we stop having theatrical sessions
The most real versions of our aversions
The things we so call hide for a prettier face
Why shouldn't we be allowed to not have a facade
Why should every one of us be oppressed by this masquerade
Why should fragile souls be fooled and go off bridges in the shades
Because of what you've created I'll stay still and dissuade
Everyone of you to not end it all by the lampshade
Till my lungs give out I'll be here to your aid
So please, don't let Society smother your beautiful self and soul
