Rise up to Glory

Though I walk through shadows at night
Hearing night birds sing
Seldom did I bother to break
The branches that bar
The path I would take
And make my way to glory
From monsters in the quarry
Found my favorite face to betray
Walked a mile inside
Moved the mouth to hear what kind of sounds come out
The stories and mistakes
The excuses that we make
That keep us from the glory
Hey, OK.
When given the choice we may
Fall down dead
Or rise up to glory instead
I say
I've been to the mountain this time
I swear
I won't come down
I've been taking my time
Never shooting my mouth
Always changing my mind
But never figure it out
Thought I was ahead of it all
Handles on my heart
Armed myself to see how it falls
The towers we built
In the heat of the sun
Monuments to glory
